7 Fantastic Tips to Make Summer Holiday Fun at Home

Summer Holiday is here and you are wondering how to entertain your child and make this the best summer. Let your inner child out this summer, you will be glad that you did and the side effects are phenomenal.

 

So, here is my quick 7, to convert your dreading summer holidays into a fun gala! Whether you’re a working mum or dad or a home maker, try out these tips and you surely are not gonna want holidays to end…

 

#1 Organise some sleep over fun

Invite your friends over with kids for some late night chats n games or your kids friends, if they are big enough. We all remember the nostalgia of midnight feasts n games of dumb charades and antakshri.

 

#2 Get your badminton / cricket (or TT) kit out

Playing games with familyimages

 

Play with your family or invite some friends over for extra fun, to play any games early morning or late evening. Finish with cold drinks or ice cream!!

 

#3 Sing songs together with your kids

Have you sang songs with kids on terrace or balcony? You’ve missed something, try this summer, however silly it sounds. Beat the drums or the kitchen bowls, feel the joy of music in your soul. And if your feet wanna shake on the tunes, please go ahead.

 

#4 Dance in the rain with your kids

Being adult does not mean we deprive ourselves of life’s true pleasures.

No rain; never mind, have a water party – water fights, balloon fights, sprinklers all can be put to good use for some extra fun. Who said holi can be just once a year! Kids are gonna call you the coolest mom or dad for this one, for sure!

 

#5 Get your apron and chef hat out

Put some nice music on and get ready for baking n making; whether its cookies, cupcakes, a special dinner for the family or an ice-cream. Create a special atmosphere with candlelights and decor, you will realise fun of preparation is always way ahead of just eating it.

#6 Plan a movie day at home

Get popcorn ready, order some pizza and indulge into some great entertainment together. Make it as dramatic as you like. Here’s my list of Great movies to watch with kids  to help you out.

 

#7 Bring colours to your life

Try your hands at some art and craft, what you and your kids fancy. Colour pots, canvas, walls as per your choice or craft some wall hangings with quotes and designs. Not feeling very artistic, grab some nice books and read together. That will lead to some great dinner time conversations too.
