How To Be Dukhi (Unhappy)!

A friend of mine once chuckled, if there was a competition to write about how to be unhappy, we will all win.

How true? Isn’t it?

Recipe for happiness might be complex and different for different people; I am sure the recipe to be unhappy is gonna be quite similar!

So here it is – seven simple recipes to create “The Unhappiness”‘

1. Worry

Let’s face it, too many bad things can happen in life…so worry! Find things to worry about and just do it.

As per Universal Law –

“What you focus upon, grows! Always.”

So the more you focus on lack or negative things and worry, the more you will get in your life and will never be short of things to worry about.

2. Maintain a poor Self-image

Think low about yourself and beat yourself for what is wrong with you. Bring your attention to all your weaknesses and how life sucks!

Measure your self- worth by “What others think of you?” and it will certainly bring an unbeatable flavour (of low self-esteem) to your recipe!

3. Nag, Complain and Criticise

Blaming and complaining is the easiest way out of taking responsibility. Isn’t it?

Criticise others for small things and nag them to do things the way you want.

“My Way or HIgh Way!”

Insist things to happen your way always – A perfect mantra to bring suffering in life.

Have you ever wondered who is more unhappy, the one doing the nagging or the one receiving it…hmmm?

4. Expect everything to be perfect

Never settle for anything less than perfect; whether it is your house, possessions, children or other people in your life. This is another mantra for making sure unhappiness is always around.

“You can either choose Perfection or Happiness.”

I have not met any perfectionist who enjoy real joy and happiness out of it.

5. Compare yourself with others

Some people always seem to have it all! They might even say they have it all.

Their life seems so perfect and they have all what you want – all good reasons to compare yourself with others, envy them and feel bad about yourself.

Comparison can easily suck the joy out of your life.

6. Never Say ‘NO’

Some people are naturally good at this quality – “Can’t say NO”.

When you really feel like saying no or when you don’t want to do what others insist… still don’t say NO!

Wonderful!

Grudges and resentments love to hang out with this quality…and leave less space for love, joy and happiness.

7. Ask yourself wrong and hopeless questions

Last but not the least – Ask yourself questions like –

Why all bad things happen to me?

Why nothing interests me?

Am I crazy or stupid?

Why nothing works out for me?

Am I going to stay like this forever?

Will I ever be happy?

Am I unlucky?

and more…

What are your recipes of unhappiness? Would you like to add any more to these recipes, please write in the comments and I’ll add them here.

with much Love and Gratitude.
