Are You Listening To Your Body?

Your Body has great intelligence and is always speaking to you, if only you would give an ear and heart to listen.

 

Do you wonder how to get in tune with body’s wisdom and intelligence? The reason most of us are not in tune with our body is – we are always in our head.

Here are some Simple ways I coach my clients to start building a relationship with their body and listen:

 

Get out of your mind:

Purpose of human mind is to navigate through the practicality of life, planning and execution. Stay there as a visitor, don’t take a permanent residence in your mind. How?

Awareness, being present with your senses, practising mindfulness, meditation are some of the ways to stay out of your mind and come back to your senses and present moment.

 

Pamper your body:

Junk food is only for your mind and for your taste buds (that too momentarily), Pamper your body with nourishing foods it loves.

Enjoy slow hot / cold shower or bath. Savour how your body feels.

 

Let your Body move:

Body loves moving…walking, dancing, moving… body loves it all… most of the time. It is the mind that stops you from moving. Throughout the day, keep moving your body and notice how does it feel.

Tip: Throughout the day, keep getting up from your chair to walk, to stretch, to move your body, to get a glass of water (esp. if you’re in a hectic sitting job).

 

Affirmations:

Sit in silence. Feel the stillness and space in your heart and repeat:

I am willing to listen to my body.

I am worthy of a fit and healthy body.

I am in tune with my body’s wisdom.

My intuition is growing.

I love and accept my body.

 

Practice self-love and self-care:

Have you heard yourself saying – I look so fat… I am ageing.. my skin is so dull…I don’t like my nose…If I get cancer…and so on… Do you know that every single cell of your body is listening.

Negative self-talk is very detrimental to your health. Take care of your body through kind words and not criticising it.

 

Love your body by appreciating what it does for you. Stop self-loathing and self-hate for yourself.
