Things That Will Delight Your Child – and No, It’s Not Gadgets

God loves fun, and of course children do too.

It is important for modern age parents to engage and connect with their
kids even at a deeper level. To guide & support them to learn the right
values and virtues in this day n age.

And the easiest and best way to engage with a child is to have fun with
them.

Here are 7 ways to totally delight your child – and No, I don’t mean
gadgets.

1. Play! Play! Play!

If you have just 10 minutes to spend with your child in a particular
day, just PLAY with them! Period.

It is that important; rest all comes after that. After all, we’re not
born to finish home work.

You can play anything as per your child’s interest and age, whether its
sports or board games, swimming or X-box. Do laugh and have fun
together.

2. Story time

All kids love bedtime stories. Usually that’s a time for snuggling and
winding down.

Do something different and exciting! Bring their soft toys and props to
do an animation story.
If you’re a real sport, show-up for story time in costume!

Don’t forget to do all the characters’ voices and special sound effects,
too.My girls are always rolling over laughing every time my husband or I
do it.

3. Really, Really, Really listen!

One of the things that can truly delight a child is true listening. We
usually pretend to ourselves that we’re listening, while half of our
attention is on our own thoughts, work or any other thing that might be
on our mind in that moment.

Taking real interest in what your child is saying, with open, loving and
non-judgemntal heart, is an enormous gift for the. It also teaches them
a great skill – listening!

4. Be Silly!

Spending sometime in activities that make them and you laugh. It can be
pillow fight, water fight, funny videos, talking, singing or dancing in
a silly way.

It can be anything to tickle their funny bones. It’s all about being
childlike!

5. Say this phrases often – I am so…!

I am so proud of you.
I am so blessed to have you.
I am so delighted with this.
I am so much in love with you.
I am so happy to have you in my life.
I am so impressed with you.
I am so grateful to you.
I am so…

6. Just chill!

Some of the times, drop any agendas and just chill.

Cuddle with them in couch.
Sit together for a long chat.
Relax and watch cartoon together.

The whole point is there is no agenda here. Just be.

7. Surprise them!!

It is easy to surprise them 🙂

Put their favourite candy or chocolate on the pillow while making their
bed.

Write a little love note for your little one and tuck it in their tiffin
/ geometry box. OR if you have a grown up, you can message or mail them
a nice note or letter.

Serve chocolate sundae or waffle with chocolate sauce in breakfast when
they’re expecting simple breakfast.

Order or prepare a surprise dessert when you already told them, there
isn’t anything at home.

Try these and with these kinds of delightful things, the smile and joy
on your kids faces is going to be priceless.
