‘Dear Zindgi’ Could it be Simpler with a Life Coach

Kabaddi. Kabaddi. Kabaddi….what fun it would be to play kabaddi with the waves!

Even though it seems some times, as if life is playing kabaddi with us. The truth is we are playing it with ourselves.

Glad to watch movie ‘Dear Zindgi‘ breaking the taboo around seeking help for emotional issues, from a psychologist aka DD ‘Dimag ka doctor’ who is no other than our charming Shahrukh Khan.

Now It’ll be bit easier for life coaches to answer when someone asks, What do you exactly do as a life coach? Well! what dear SRK, Dr Jehangir Khan does in the movie – helping people how to handle challenges in relationships, deal with one’s feelings, learn to let go, staying happy and much more….

Even though people are becoming more aware around seeking help for day to day struggles around relationships, stress, career and general well-being; still resistance and ignorance is evident in our society.

We hear a lot from clients about how their family or friends judge them for going to a life coach or psychologist for support and do not realise the importance of emotional health.

The movie depicts how simple yet deep conversations can lead to new insights and realisations which can be catalyst for transformation in one’s perception towards life.

Even though the movie didn’t reach the depth of emotional turmoil the characters were going through. And it could have done better with some deep dive in the philosophy of life, they were trying to touch. Though it conveyed simple subtle messages like –

“Life is so simple but our own fears, insecurities and overthinking about things make it so complicated.”

Also seeking help from a mental & emotional health professional is as simple and important as going to a doctor for kidney or stomach issues.

Sometimes in life we’re not able to understand what drives our behaviour, emotions and actions. A coach can help us show a mirror which is non judgemental and completely unbiased.

Since I became a life coach, I’ve always had my own coach to support and guide me in different phases of my life journey. And I am so fortunate to do the same for my clients.

The lessons I’ve learnt from my own journey and my clients are – how to stay in touch with one’s own wisdom, think less and live more, let go of the past and future worries and enjoy the present to the fullest.

As our dear hero says in the movie –

“Don’t let your past blackmail your present, into ruining your future.”

Much Love.
