Do you truly love yourself?

Thinking that you love yourself, and truly living that – are two completely different things.

Agree?

So even if you think you love yourself, it’s important to check do you actually love yourself?

Let me explain…

It took me years and years, to understand the difference in telling myself that I love and accept myself and truly loving and accepting myself. And I’m still learning…

A few things I learnt during this inner process…

* When you love yourself, you don’t hurt yourself by thinking about shame, guilt or resentful thoughts, repetitively.

*When you truly love yourself, you forget easily and forgive yourself and others gracefully. Because holding on costs you inner peace .

* When you truly love yourself, you don’t tend to compare or belittle yourself when you see others succeed in anything.

And even if you do, you become aware and shift your thoughts towards appreciation.

*When you love yourself, you don’t get distracted easily. You’re devoted and committed to what you really want to do and you stay focused.

*When you truly love yourself, you are not doing things for other’s approval, or for love & appreciation; you do because that’s what you love to do.

Accepting and loving yourself fully is a lifelong learning and process. Knowing that you are kinder and more compassionate to yourself every day is a great start.

We all are work in progress.

It’s a life long journey to learn how to love ourselves, truly.

Begin today.

When we start loving ourselves, we become kinder to others too, and start loving other people and things in life naturally too.

To self-love.
